Lufthansa is one of the largest A320 family operators in the world and Lufthansa announced that they would retire 

their 30 year old A320, the first aircraft from the A320 family that Lufthansa owned, the aircraft was delivered while the Berlin wall still stood. the last flight of D-AIPA was from brussels to Frankfurt.
